However, the thing that breaks NC’s review is that it acts as if the story is modern. The story ranges the time period of the 1940’s to 1970’s, and its easy to pick it up with interviews with Roger Waters, who based the Wall off of his own lifestory. The Wall is a concept album about the growth and isolation of a washed up rock star, in the late 70’s. One of the more offensive things about NC’s The Wall is how unaware of it’s subject matter it is. NC’s problem with long running gags and jokes is evident (So Long Weird Song, Comfortably Dumb, haha funny lol here’s a view) Stretched to 40 minutes with few points in between, it offers nothing worthy and instead seems like a pitiful cry for relatability. This could have been a regular 10-12 minute regular NC video, but instead he brings in Corey Taylor, Slipknot’s frontman, a special effects producer named Fennah, and talented musician Rob Scallion, to make a side story mocking the film’s storyline as a critique. It's Petty and doesn't explore any deeper meaning shallow as freshly baked phyllo dough. Wittener's class made by a straight B student (no offense to Rob Scallion he is a great musician, and at least he didn't have the vitriol), mocks (rather than critique) the film and rants about nonsense from victimization (While not saying explicitly, it's believed he's implying some of the controversy) to the dysfunction of the American Education System.

Outdated and damaging to people with mental health as the bleakness overshadow’s its message about mental healthīloated and doesn’t translate the original meaning from the album well.īut none of those points are made, and instead he spends 40 MINUTES (I guess Bring The Run Time Down applies to something I guess) going through a fantasized green screen-s_hole in which he, in karaoke backed by a 8th-grade music production project for Ms. He could have made points like these:įilm is too depressing and bleak to be good on its own. In fact, NC could have made a great review. Most reviews of the The Wall (mind you, NC is trying to make a review of the FILM from '82) praise this as a great album, however the film has been debated if the merits translate into it properly. This parody is more of a troll than an actual review. I'm going to start with how bad of Parody and how nothing worth of a critical point is made. Doesn't take into account the time and setting of the album Too Abusive of a Parody / Too Sensitive Subject Matter isn't a comedyĢ. (Keep in mind that I'm not going to mention the bad music quality, that's self explanatory).ġ. I'm going to list some points as to why this album is bad. There are flaws with the album, and those could've provoked a thoughtful critique on the wall. Pink Floyd's the Wall has gotten new meaning through its view on Mental Health, which is the reason I suspect many people love it, the same with DSOTM and WYWH, as it explores feelings that have become omnipresent today. In practice this could have been a decent parody by NC standards, but its so hateful, mean, and abusive towards its source material its actually quite depressing.
